Couch Potato blinks a few times, looks at the mounds of trash piled up around his chair, and says to himself, "This place is a mess!" He then calls for his wife (Diane Thornton): "Dumpling! Get in here!" She appears, carrying a dish towel, the picture of loveliness, in housecoat and curlers.
Couch Potato continues, "Here, have a seat. I'll clean up this mess." She sits down, half in shock at his downright responsible behavior, and he merrily picks up trash, whistling all the while. Then her eyes narrow, and she stands up to her full four-foot-eleven frame, takes Couch Potato by the shoulders and peers suspiciously into his eyes. "Who are you, and what have you done with my husband?" He just smiles, and leads her up to the stage, where they are joined by the rest of the cast, singing a reprise of Lean On Me to close the show.
