The next segment was the Singalong Around the
Electric Campfire®. Well, okay, we
didn't have the electric campfire on stage for this particular number,
but we thought it was a cute name for the act. We did have the electric
campfire on for the Medley, though, so it
wasn't entirely a fabrication. . .
Here are Jon Shafer and Molly Oltrogge (Molly's the one on the left)
having entirely too much fun singing Home on the Range,
or Rocky Mountain High, or You Gotta Know When to Hold
'Em, or perhaps even She'll be Comin' Around the Mountain to
each other.
Nana Tonkin (left), infatuated like a schoolgirl over Ben, gushes, "A cowboy who can sing and play the guitar. . . why, he can almost yodel! Do you think there's anything he can't do?"
Nancy Patton (right) pipes up, "Yeah: pick what show to be in!" All three cacklers dissolve into peals of laughter, as the audience groans. Thankfully, the intermission showed up at this moment, so all involved could save face.
